OVERVIEW: The Dr. Andor and Joy Kiszely Carnegie Hall Auditioned Recital represents the very finest in Classical solo and ensemble performance in Philadelphia and the surrounding region. It is nationally recognized in both academia and the world of Classical Music for its high standard of excellence and integrity. It is a completely nonprofit event. All fees involved are solely to defray expenses. Only a small number of highly gifted young musical artists are selected to perform in the NYC recital at Carnegie Hall. The top twelve scoring students are given a professional recording session free of charge, made possible by a generous grant from PhMTA and the help of Steinway & Sons, Philadelphia. Adjudicators are recognized faculty and performers from area Universities, Colleges and Music Schools and may not adjudicate their own students and are completely impartial. The administrative committee is completely made up of volunteers. The sole aim of this event is to foster and promote talented young musicians and honor the memory of two of Philadelphia's most cherished teachers and concert pianists: Dr. Andor and Joy Kiszely.
